Hongkong CityTour

The day today started off with a ceremony for all non-local students. Besides us, exchange students, that also includes students from Mainland China, Taiwan and areas around. We had a nice program, with a guitar playing guy who got his masters at HKIEd and already won a lot of prizes, with a girl who did traditional Chinese dancing, with more musicians and more legends to be told (apparently they have a lot of those). I think we are around 250 non-local students.

Afterwards, we went to Tsim Sha Tsui to the Museum of History. Let's be honest: History is boring...usually, but it was actually quite interesting. Most interesting for me was the fact that Hongkong-New Territories was a lease to England for 99years, which ended in 1997. That's the year of transfer of the sovereignty of Hongkong to China. However, other parts of Hongkong were given to England as a present so they could have kept it forever but decided to also give it back to China.

Next we went to Victoria Harbour

above you can see some of the exchange students and buddies.

We also went on a ferry to see it from another direction, so we had Victoria Harbour on the one side and Central (Hongkong Island) on the other
Then we had some free time and (for everyone who hasn't figured it out yet) we went to have dinner with a group of 12 people. Chinese food again. I think I might get tired of Chinese food after a while but we'll see.

I'll end this post with a selfie, because we all know selfies are the best kind of pictures......
BEACH DAY TOMORROW!!!! I said BEACH DAY TOMORROW!!! :) :)
